Bugs
Bugs, creepy-crawlies, pests, or the wiggly creatures with hard shells and legs, but no backbone—all of these refer to arthropods. Though they have many names, few are respectful. Nonetheless, arthropods comprise about half of the total biomass of animals on Earth. They are true essential workers, performing vital roles such as aerating soil, decomposing organic matter, and pollinating plants. To help foster a closer connection, I portray them as spirit masks, with holes for eyes so that you can see the world from their perspective.

Some mosquito species have been found to be parasitized by larval water mites, which can reduce the survival and reproductive success of mosquitoes.
