Pond Life Gallery
Ponds are being lost around the world, but they are a key part of a system that maintains our climate. In Alaska we still have plenty of them, but non less precious. No mater whether it is a big bog are or just a small temporary water-filled sink hole, we have the choice to see it as hydraulic inconvenience exploited by mosquitos, or a jewel in a crown.
I seebeauty in the intricate dynamics and complex relationships in a pond ecosystem. I am intrigued by the interconnection between the many literal and figurative layers, the diversity of the parts and the ever changing flow of interaction between all. I am just as fascinated by the grand vista of a flowing forest as I am by the view through a microscope, watching at the busy live of a water drop.
