Nothern Skies Gallery

The skies in Alaska are rich in contrast and can be breathtaking. Winter gives the air a crisp clarity, perfect for viewing the dramatic Northern Lights. Summer brings the never-ending light of the Midnight Sun and skies filled with birds and bugs. Summer can also fill the air with heavy smoke from forest fires, which are part of the life cycle of the northern forest. Some birds remain with us throughout the winter, keeping us company during the darker months.
